Vintage ephemera

"Ephemera"

Derived in Greek, the meaning describes something designed to be 'short-lived' (Greek epi about, around + hemera a day), but in todays world the word is used to describe mostly printed paper products or documents that are transient and intended for short term use and then discarded. -except by collectors.

Vintage ephemera

As to collectors, ephemera refers practically to any printed material that is non-book and examples are limitless that date back centuries for as long as paper has been used. However, as color printing in the late 1800s and then developed further in the 1900s came into modern times, then did mass production and hired artists dramatically expand the use of wonderful graphics that attract many of the collectors today.
